Computer Companies

Apple has moved from well made software - to fast updates with bugs. I think it would have been different if Steve Jobs was alive. Apple also seems more greedy now. The new Apple way reminds me of what Microsoft was before. It feels like they are on the top of the mountain. Will they stay or go down?
Microsoft on the other hand is moving up the mountain. It will be exiting to see if their "hardware development" team are given more room with the, not so new, but great ceo. Steve Ballmer was a salesman - not a ceo.
Before and now Microsoft have come up with some very innovative products which has never seen the market, except for xbox and surface computers which has some innovativeness.
Google seems quiet to me. They seem interested in creating cheap hardware, like Chromecast, Chrome computers to reach as many people as possible, so they can control their most important market. Chrome web browser is another excellent example of control.
Internet of Things and Virtual "glasses" of some kind seems like the next big hype, and it will be important. The question is when?
Security is another area of interest. What will happen here? It's important today, but I think security will seem even more important tomorrow.
The problem with unencrypted or poorly encrypted traffic is that the big guys don't like it. Governments and internet related companies wants the network traffic to be unencrypted so it's easy to analyse, so the development has to come from somewhere else, maybe the "open source" world, or a giant data breach can force the big companies to take new step?
I think the economy is moving into a "softer" world. Less hardware and physical products and more services, entertainment and virtual stuff.
I think - in twenty years virtual stuff will sell for as much money as real physical stuff, at least in the rich countries. The underdeveloped countries will continue to struggle unless they have or get natural resources or tourists.

Comments four years later:

Apple has topped. Iphone sales which are their most profitable product is fading. If they can move from Intel chips to their own chips without losing customers, money will flow their way, but I doubt it with their high prices.

Google seems to be a AI-giant. Will they be first to reach singularity? Their biggest overall competitor is Amazon!

Microsoft keeps rocking with their not so new great CEO.

Facebook is going down. Who's taking over?

Fatalism
